A strain gage with a resistance of 350 ohms and a gage factor of 2 mounted to a structure subjected to strain level of 1000 micro-strain will change its resistance 0.7 ohms. While this resistance change can be sensed with one of the newer digital ohmmeters, if we wish to resolve 1/1000 of this applied load, we must sense the difference....
