Lake Orion, MI - Working together with one of their customers, Sensor Developments has developed a sensor that provides a "complete" solution to accelerometer calibration.

The sensor is an XYZ sensor. It's a low profile, triaxial load cell. The sensor can be produced with a capacity range of 200 to 1000 lbs. Each axis has the same capacity.

This particular design has the signal conditioner built into the sensor. This means the sensor can talk directly to an A/D board. No intermediate step is necessary, thus providing a "complete solution". With the signal conditioner built into the sensor, aspects such as "offset" and "gain" don't have to be calculated into the measurement equation.

In this case, the sensor was used to calibrate an accelerometer test stand. However, it is easily suitable for many other multi-component force measuring applications where compact size and high performance are required.
