New Steering Effort Sensor Enables Drivers to Have Subjective Opinion.

Lake Orion, MI - Sensor Developments Inc. introduces the Model 01227, a new entry into the growing family of steering effort sensors. A major advantage of this sensor is its "low-profile". This feature minimizes the offset of the "actual" steering wheel giving the driver a more realistic perspective during a test.

The 01227 is installed in-line with the steering column and is virtually unnoticed by the the driver. 01227 can be used to evaluate steering torque and angle in new and existing steering systems and components in automobiles, trucks, and buses.

The 01227 uses slip rings for excitation and signal transmission and can measure steering torques up to a nominal value of 300 in.lbs. (other capacities are available). The angular resolution is 0.25/pulse (1440PPR). Torque output is 2.0 mV/V nominal full scale, and torque accuracy is +/- 0.1% of full scale.
