Innovations in Force Measurement

PRESS RELEASE - April-2005

Lake Orion, MI – Sensor Developments Inc. has customized it's standard model 01251 infrared rotating torque sensor to achieve a single flange configuration, while still maintaining high torsional stiffness.  This new sensor was designed where axial space is a premium, without compromising performance requirements. It features true non-contacting torque measurement. No bearings or slip rings are used in the design.  The sensor is inductively powered via a rotating transformer and the torque signal is digitized and sent via infrared light pulses back to a stationary optical receiver. The signals are then filtered and converted back to high level analog out-puts and digital serial output.

Various torque ranges, flange and mounting configurations can be accommodated with our custom engineering capabilities.  Please contact our factory for further information.

System Features Include:

  • High frequency response

  • High accuracy

  • High level analog signal output
