OUR COMPANY designs and manufacturers force and torque sensors, instruments, and systems for testing and quality assurance. Our sensors are used to evaluate engines, drive-trains, steering, suspensions, brakes, tires, power windows, sunroofs, aircraft controls, spot welders, power tools and many others. We offer ISO calibration for any force and torque sensor.

Press ReleaseNew Pinch Force Sensor measures automatic window forces.
Lake Orion, MI  Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS-118), specify maximum forces that can be developed by automatic window, door, and sunroof closing mechanisms under defined spring rates and displacements.

Sensor Developments’ model 10293-450 Pinch Force Sensor, uses interchangeable spring packs and adjustable initial “gaps” to allow the checking of these power operated systems.

Performance features:

In operation, the sensor is “clipped” onto the window and the closer actuated. A companion instrument records the peak force developed to verify compliance to the specification. Standard capacities for the sensor are forces up to 200 Newtons, Spring rates from 2 to 65 N/mm, and displacements from 6 to 200 mm. Sensor may also be mated to more sophisticated instrumentation for development applications.

SDI a designer and manufacturer of force and torque sensors, systems, and associated data acquisition equipment.
